About The Strategic PMO

After more than 15 years in project, program, and portfolio management, I’ve learned that great delivery isn’t about process maturity alone — it’s about connection.

Connection between strategy and execution.
Between leadership intent and team reality.
Between decisions made and outcomes delivered.

Over the years, I’ve built PMOs from the ground up, led large-scale transformations, and helped organizations turn ambitious strategies into measurable results. Along the way, I’ve earned credentials across traditional, agile, and operational disciplines — but experience has taught me that credentials only tell part of the story.

The Strategic PMO exists to share what actually works in practice.

Not theory.
Not trends.
Not frameworks divorced from context.

This site is as much a place to think clearly as it is a place to learn — including for me.

How to Read This Site

This site isn’t a collection of templates, tools, or frameworks.

It’s a perspective on how execution actually works inside complex organizations — where strategy, delivery, and reality rarely align cleanly.

The ideas here are meant to be:

  • Read slowly
  • Questioned
  • Adapted, not copied

You won’t find step-by-step playbooks or one-size-fits-all answers.
You will find principles, mechanisms, and patterns that help leaders make better decisions under pressure.

If you’re looking for:

  • Ready-made artifacts
  • Methodology debates
  • Certification-aligned guidance

This probably isn’t the right place.

If you’re responsible for turning intent into outcomes — and want execution to be predictable, credible, and trusted — you’re in the right room.

Read what resonates.
Ignore what doesn’t.
Return when the system starts to creak.

That’s usually when these ideas matter most.

What You’ll Find Here

The Strategic PMO focuses on the practical mechanics of delivery at scale, including:

  • How operating rhythms shape behavior
  • How governance can enable speed instead of slowing it down
  • How metrics inform judgment rather than overwhelm it
  • How decision rights, cadence, and clarity compound over time

Some ideas are intentionally incomplete without context. That’s by design.
Real delivery problems don’t have universal answers — and responsible application matters as much as insight.

Use what’s here to sharpen your judgment, ask better questions, and design solutions that fit your organization — not to force frameworks where they don’t belong.

Who This Is For

This site is written for people who sit close to complexity:

  • PMO, program, and delivery leaders operating at enterprise scale
  • Technical Program Managers navigating ambiguity and tradeoffs
  • Executives who care less about methodology labels and more about outcomes

If you’re looking for step-by-step instructions or one-size-fits-all solutions, this may not be the right place.

If you’re trying to build judgment — in yourself or in your organization — you’re exactly where you should be.

About Me

I care deeply about how organizations deliver — and how easily good strategy can fail when execution systems don’t support it.

I enjoy collaborating, trading lessons learned, and learning how others are rethinking delivery in their own environments. If that sounds like you, welcome.
